La Faculté de foresterie, de géographie et de géomatique de l’Université Laval lance un appel de candidatures pour un poste de professeure ou professeur en géomatique marine et modélisation hydrospatiale au Département des sciences géomatiques.
Ce poste stratégique s’inscrit au cœur d’initiatives internationales majeures : la nouvelle Chaire GEOMARIS, codirigée avec Sorbonne Université, et le Laboratoire Takuvik (ULaval – CNRS – Sorbonne Université). La personne recrutée jouera un rôle central dans le développement de recherches de pointe sur l’observation, l’analyse et la modélisation des milieux aquatiques, particulièrement dans les environnements nordiques et les mers englacées.
Un rôle clé en géomatique marine
- Participation directe à une programmation scientifique ambitieuse portant sur les dynamiques océaniques, la résilience des écosystèmes et l’adaptation aux changements climatiques
- Collaboration avec des équipes reconnues en océanographie, télédétection, environnement et modélisation
- Accès à un environnement scientifique unique, incluant un laboratoire de métrologie-GNSS de calibre national
- Rôle équilibré entre enseignement, encadrement étudiant et développement d’un programme de recherche innovant
- Contribution active à un milieu universitaire reconnu pour son excellence et son interdisciplinarité
La personne retenue sera appelée à enseigner aux trois cycles et à développer un programme de recherche original et structurant, en lien avec les axes de la Chaire GEOMARIS.

The Faculty of Forestry, Geography and Geomatics at Université Laval invites applications for a tenure-track position in marine geomatics and hydrospatial modeling within the Department of Geomatics Sciences.
This position is directly tied to major international research initiatives: the new GEOMARIS Chair, jointly led with Sorbonne University, and the Takuvik International Research Laboratory (ULaval – CNRS – Sorbonne University). The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research on aquatic and marine environments, especially in northern and ice-covered regions.
A Key Role in Marine Geomatics
- Direct involvement in a high-impact scientific program addressing global ocean and hydrosphere challenges, ecosystem resilience, and climate adaptation.
- Collaboration with renowned interdisciplinary teams in oceanography, remote sensing, environmental sciences, and modeling.
